Sex & Intimacy Therapy

Warm, collaborative, sex-positive, and non-judgmental, creating space to explore sexuality and intimacy in ways that honour your values, culture, spirituality, boundaries, and unique experience.

My Approach to Sex Therapy

Our intimate lives are an important expression of our human experience, and sex and intimacy can take many diverse, meaningful, and unique forms. If your relationship with sex, intimacy, desire, or your body is causing frustration, confusion, shame, disconnection, or tension in your relationships, sex therapy can help.

I offer online sex therapy across Ontario, including clients in Niagara Falls and throughout the Niagara Region. You don't need to have a particular diagnosis or identify with the idea of having a “sexual problem” to seek support. Sometimes all we need is a safe, knowledgeable place to explore questions about desire, pleasure, intimacy, sexuality, relationships, or the ways our experiences have shaped how we understand ourselves.

Sex and intimacy can be incredibly difficult to talk about. Perhaps you've considered counselling for sexual or intimate aspects of your life but aren't sure where to begin. Maybe you're worried that a therapist will judge you, make assumptions about your sexuality, or approach certain aspects of your sexual life as though they are problems that need to be fixed.

My approach is sex-positive, sexuality-informed, inclusive, and non-judgmental. I believe that there is considerable diversity in the ways people experience attraction, desire, pleasure, intimacy, relationships, gender, and sexuality. Therapy isn't about imposing a particular model of what a healthy sex life should look like. Instead, we'll explore what feels authentic, meaningful, consensual, and right for you.

Sometimes what we experience as a sexual difficulty has roots in limited or inaccurate sexual education, shame, cultural or religious messages, relationship dynamics, stress, anxiety, body image, trauma, communication difficulties, or the complex relationship between our minds and bodies. When appropriate, I also welcome exploration of the ways culture, spirituality, values, and personal beliefs influence your understanding of sexuality and intimacy.

I am also asexuality-affirming and recognize that a fulfilling life and relationship do not necessarily involve sexual attraction or sexual activity. Whether you're exploring your relationship with sex, experiencing little or no sexual desire, navigating differences in desire with a partner, or simply trying to better understand yourself, there is room for you here.

Areas We Can Explore Together:

  • Understanding and expressing desire, arousal, pleasure, and sexual preferences

  • Exploring painful, complicated, or confusing feelings about sex and intimacy

  • Understanding the mind-body connection and factors that can influence arousal and sexual functioning

  • Exploring sexual concerns such as differences in desire, erectile difficulties, orgasm difficulties, pain, or changes in sexual functioning

  • Developing greater comfort communicating with partners about sex, intimacy, boundaries, needs, and desires

  • Exploring fantasy, eroticism, and desire in a safe and non-judgmental environment

  • Understanding how relationship dynamics can influence sexual connection and intimacy

  • Exploring different approaches to relationships, including monogamy, consensual non-monogamy (CNM), and polyamory

  • Exploring kink, fetishes, and BDSM with a focus on communication, safety, and boundary-setting

  • Exploring sexual and gender identity from an 2SLGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse affirming stance

  • Examining the impact of shame, stigma, body image, anxiety, stress, or past experiences on sexuality and intimacy

  • Exploring the role that culture, spirituality, religion, and personal values may play in your experience of sexuality

  • Understanding patterns of compulsive or problematic technology use and exploring the needs or emotions that may underlie those patterns

  • Developing a more authentic, satisfying, and personally meaningful relationship with sexuality and intimacy

My goal isn't to tell you what your sex life should look like. It's to create a space where you can talk openly, ask questions, understand yourself more deeply, and make choices that are consistent with your values, boundaries, relationships, and wellbeing.

Sex therapy is a collaborative process, and you get to decide what you want to explore.

I work with adults across Ontario through secure online therapy. My practice is inclusive of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, relationship structures, cultural backgrounds, and spiritual or non-spiritual worldviews.

*My sex therapy practice is focused on consensual adult sexuality, sexual wellbeing, and intimate relationships. I do not provide assessment or treatment for individuals who are struggling with sexual offences or criminal sexual behaviour.
