Counselling & Support for Life’s Turning Points
Life moves in cycles. Some are soft as moss; others arrive like wildfire sweeping through everything you thought was certain. My counselling practice offers a quiet, steady place to sit with whatever season you’re in—to sort through the tender, tangled, or transforming parts of your inner world.
Here, we move slowly. We honour your pace. We let meaning surface in its own time, through conversation, reflection, nature, or words on a page. You don’t have to hold it all by yourself.
How I Support Clients
Grief & Loss
When someone or something beloved falls out of your life, the air changes. Counselling can offer a soft light to help you find the next steps, even when the path is unclear.
Life Transitions
Beginnings, endings, and the long liminal spaces in between. When life shifts, I walk with you gently into what’s emerging, holding space for uncertainty, grief, hope, and new possibilities.
Relationships & Communication
Sometimes hearts speak in riddles. Sometimes old patterns call the shots. Together we explore what’s hidden, untangle the knots, and practice ways of relating that feel more honest, calm, and connected.
Creative Expression & Reflective Writing
For creative or curious souls whose inner world shapes the outer work — we use writing, reflection, and conversation to loosen blocks, release inner pressure, and reconnect with your voice.
Spiritual & Nature-Based Support
If you long for connection to earth, ritual, meaning, or slow ceremony — I offer walk-and-talk, nature-informed support, rooted in compassion and inclusive of diverse beliefs.
My practice rests on compassion, curiosity, and deep listening. I walk alongside you — not directing, but accompanying. In sessions we might have: gentle, grounding conversation; reflective writing or journaling; nature-inspired practices; mindfulness; practical tools for self-care and emotional well-being.
Nothing is rushed. No pressure to “be fixed.” You set the pace. You hold the lead. My role is to offer support, holding space, and reflection — so you find clarity, inner strength, and deeper connection to yourself.
Clear Scope & Ethics
I am a certified counsellor and life-cycle celebrant. In my practice I honour the limits of confidentiality and informed consent that are set by various Canadian regulatory standards of care.
I am not yet registered psychotherapist and do not provide psychotherapy or clinical mental-health treatment at this time. If your needs extend beyond my scope—such as crisis support, clinical concerns, or complex trauma—I’ll help connect you with regulated mental-health professionals who can offer the level of care required.
Your First Session
Our first meeting is a gentle exploration of what brings you here and what you’re hoping to cultivate. It’s a conversation, not an assessment. You set the pace.
Where Sessions Happen
Sessions currently take place online or in person if you are choosing a walk and talk or forest bathing session. You’re welcome to bring reflections, writing, questions, or simply yourself in whatever state you arrive.

About Me
I am a counsellor, writer, and secular minister who believes in the healing that happens when we slow down and listen — really listen — to ourselves. My work is shaped by nature, story, and the quiet rituals of everyday life. I aim to offer a grounded presence, a compassionate ear, and a space of steadiness for anyone navigating change, grief, longing, or transformation.
The Difference Between Counselling and Psychotherapy
In Ontario, both counselling and psychotherapy offer support for mental health, but they differ in approach, scope, and regulation.
Counselling typically focuses on addressing specific life issues like stress, relationships, or career challenges. It tends to be shorter-term, solution-oriented, and provided by professionals like social workers or certified counsellors. Counselling aims to improve your coping strategies and enhance emotional well-being.
Psychotherapy, on the other hand, dives deeper into psychological patterns and mental health disorders like anxiety, depression, or trauma. It involves long-term treatment by a regulated psychotherapist, psychologist, or psychiatrist. Psychotherapy addresses underlying emotional issues and behavioural patterns to foster long-lasting change.
While both services support mental health, psychotherapy in Ontario is more regulated, requiring practitioners to be licensed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Counsellors may not need the same formal registration.
Choosing between the two depends on your needs—counselling for immediate, focused support or psychotherapy for more in-depth treatment of mental health conditions.
Please note that I am not yet a licensed psychotherapist.
